Extra Curricular Activities

Thurston Community College StudentsA really important part of Thurston Community College is the activities which students take part in outside their regular lessons. The College runs late buses which leave at 17:00 three nights a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

There is a wide variety of clubs and activities which run throughout the year. These range from extra-curricular sport and performing arts to activities like the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme, Book Club and Latin lessons.

Inter-house competitions provide opportunities for all students to take part termly in a range of events including sport, performing arts, specialist skills and creative activities. A large number of students represent the College in both team and individual competitions. Whilst our emphasis is always on taking part, we regularly enjoy success at local, county and regional level, in all areas of Extra Curricular activities.
